Andino National Park was created on November 17, 1982, and is located in the province of Llanquihue, in the municipalities of Puerto Montt and Cochamó, between the breast and Reloncaví estuary, in the mountainous area that extends south lake Chapo. There are 39,255 hectares of larch forests located in the mountains of the Lake

District. This slow growing conifer wood and excellent, is in danger of extinction and this park is one of its main shelters.

Alerce Andino National Park is part of the Biosphere Reserve temperate rainforests of the southern Andes.
